The Verona Concert band recently had the honor of performing at the Sacred Heart

Cathedral’s famed music series “Wednesdays At Noon” in Newark.

Verona first performed there for the first time back in 2013, becoming the first non professional band to perform at the Cathedral.  

The Verona Band performed performed Americans We, Ye Banks and Braes O’ Bonnie Doon, Crown Imperial, and an original work, Organic Matter, which our band commissioned from composer David R. Gillingham.

Dylan Gallagher, a sophomore in the Verona Concert Band explained how much  the band had been working, all leading up to this final moment.

”Right after the winter concert, we immediately started preparing, and it was really worth all those hours of practice. The whole atmosphere  was really different from anything we’ve experienced as a band before, and it was really such a good experience.

The student body, in an assembly before the actual performance, was treated to the same performance the band gave in Newark.
